There are excellent artists and there are excellent teachers. At Helios we work hard at finding the rare individual who can create work that inspires and then successfully share knowledge so that students can channel the inspiration to create their own rewarding art.
Kari Minnick is one of those rare people who is truly exceptional in both vocations - as artist and teacher.
Over time, most fused glass artists and enthusiasts "collect" a lot of techniques, filling toolboxes with countless ways of making things. Where we often struggle is knowing what to make with our abundant palette.
This unique class, taught by one of the fused glass community's most highly regarded instructors, will teach you skills for both figuring out what to make and how to use the techniques and methods that you have available to realized your ideas.
This course is designed for students with existing technical abilities who wish to further the unique and artistic aspects of their work. Individual investigation through non-glass studies will lead to completed glass projects. Topics covered will include:
- Finding what drives you
- Facing the blank "canvas" and getting started
- Confident composing and artful arrangement
- Choosing methods to support your designs and concepts
Consider Composing with Confidence a knowledge multiplier as it will teach you new skills that will allow you to make more effective use of the knowledge you already have.
