Advanced Fused Glass Boot Camp!

Advanced Fusing, Cutting, and Assembly: 5 Days of Mind Blowing Techniques!

Our Advanced Fused Glass Boot Camp builds on common fusing methods (like pattern bars and strip construction) and expands the techniques signficantly to create fused glass artwork that will amaze you.

This class is ideal for:

  • Artists who understand the basics of pattern bars, strip construction and simillar methods. (Please call the studio if you are unsure).
  • Experienced fusers who want to learn uncommon techniques that will allow them to create work that stands out from most other fused glass artwork.
  • Out-of-towners who cannot attend weekly classes but who want to benefit from the kind of education that only a world-class teaching studio like Helios can offer.

What we will cover:

Here are many (but not all) of the things you'll learn at the Helios Advanced Fused Glass Boot Camp:

  • Review of firing schedule basics
  • Review of pattern bar and strip construction basics
  • Design and color considerations for advanced assembly techniques
  • Advanced pattern bar techniques including multi-iteration assemblies, non-rectangular pattern bars, and more
  • Advanced strip construction techniques including "planking", non-parallel stripes and lines, advanced geometric designs, sheet glass pre-design techiques, and more
  • Precision designs through compound assembly
  • Creating focal elements with high fire techniques including mesh melts, trough melts, high-fire blocks, and more.
  • Edge design techniques
  • Additional advanced topics based on specific student interests.

With a balanced combination of discussion, demonstration and plenty of hands-on time, our Advanced Bootcamp is a great way to set yourself apart with techniques and methods not taught elsewhere.
