(Past) Richard Parrish: Tapestry and Beyond
January 7-11, 2023 - Saturday - Wednesday - 10:00AM - 5:00PM
5 days
10 students maximum
Lunches included
I am fascinated with the richness that results from pattern making and the color variations that are possible. There is a mathematical aspect to pattern making that appeals to my interest in structure and order.
The Tapestry and Beyond Intensive is a boot camp like class. It is a comprehensive class covering Tapestry and Beyond Tapestry techniques and more. A complete range of material colors and types, including stringers, sheet glass, and frit will be available for experimentation and projects.
Who takes this class?
People who are new to Tapestry
People who have previously taken a Tapestry class in person or online
People who have purchased the Tapestry Master Class video from Bullseye
This class is designed to expand everyone's knowledge of a wide range of Tapestry techniques and variations. On-edge assembly, cutting and reassembling, multiple firings, slumping, and coldworking expand the basic techniques. Many of the techniques in this class can be adapted and used with other patterned glass.
Prerequisite: Glass cutting experience, particularly strip cutting at 4mm thickness, and prior kilnforming experience.
