Radiant Potential
by Kristine Shafer
9.5" x 12" x .25"
The boats wait patiently through the day bathed in glorious light. Their journeys yet to begin.
This piece was created as an exploration of Morgan Madison’s abstracted images technique and is based on a photograph from a family week spent living at a marina. The colors radiate the changing colors of the sky over the course of the day. The lines and masts mix with the radiated light, refracting it out like a prism.
Artist Statement:
From the sheer enjoyment of cutting, breaking, and melting it to the science that defines it, I am captivated by glass. I reflect history, nature, culture, place, and self exploration through the unique properties of glass art.
