9" x 9" x 1/4"

The most hopeful of seasons.  Made entirely of translucent fused glass.  Parts were formed from sheet glass, frit and  stringers using different techniques for different areas.  Sheet glass was melted together for the palette of blended blues used in the petals. The background was made from medium and fine frit.  Stringers combined with slivers of sheet glass formed the stem.  The image was built on a single layer of clear glass and fired.  The stand was custom-made for this piece.

Artist Statement:

My art begins with what I find around me, interpreting and transforming experiences into glass, from nature and our built world, from imagery and patterns.I use fused glass to bring my ideas to fruition because:I. Love. Glass.I love glass, therefore, I explore! How light transmits or reflects.Colors and combinations.Chemistry and heat interplaying inside the kiln. The possibilities are endless and the learning never stops. My goal for each piece is to engage the viewer and share the beauty of this exciting medium.
